How We Can Secure Our Computers From Spyware (Rep. Joe Barton)

The installation of spyware on your computer without your knowledge and without your consent is a little like sneaking into your home and planting a bug, and it’s both widespread and wrong. I’m confident H.R. 964 will be widely supported by members, as well as industry and consumer groups. This is an issue that affects all of our constituents and I remain committed to seeing anti-spyware legislation enacted into law. I am confident that the few remaining issues can be resolved quickly and we can report this bill out of committee for overwhelmingly bipartisan passage by the full House. Furthermore, the Senate must finally take action, so we can get this to the president.
