Let the budget hearings begin

Several House committees will hold hearings next week on the Obama administration’s 2015 budget request, including a Ways and Means Committee one on Thursday with Treasury Secretary Jack Lew.

Obama’s proposed budget for 2015 is expected on March 4, about a month past the statutory deadline. His plan is expected to include a proposal to spend another $56 billion above the new budget caps on an infrastructure and jobs initiative.

{mosads}In addition to the Ways and Means hearing, the House Budget Committee will meet Wednesday with White House Budget Director Sylvia Burwell.

The House Appropriations Committee will hold several budget hearings  throughout the week to talk about the budget with various department and agency heads.

House Appropriations

The committee will hold several budget hearings between March 4 and March 6 on various departments and agencies, including the Department of Agriculture, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Library of Congress. Details here.
