And on Thursday, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold a hearing on “unanswered questions” about the events that happened in Benghazi one year ago this week.
{mosads}The hearings will happen amid ongoing GOP criticism that the Obama administration has shown little interest in finding those responsible for the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that left four U.S. officials dead.
In light of the one-year anniversary this week, Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) has increased his calls for a special prosecutor to handle the Benghazi investigation. And just this week, Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) introduced legislation that calls on the administration to name Ansar al-Sharia as a terrorist group in Libya.
Poe said it has been clear that this group is responsible for the attack and criticized the administration for failing to follow up, even as members of the group have been giving interviews to foreign reporters.
