The House Science, Space and Technology Committee will hear from President Obama’s Energy Secretary next week.
{mosads}Secretary Ernest Moniz will testify Thursday at a hearing titled, “Department of Energy Science and Technology Priorities.”
Republican lawmakers have been calling for the Department of Energy to approve more than 20 pending liquid natural gas (LNG) facilities so that the U.S. can export more energy to Europe and Ukraine to dilute Russia’s power in the region. Questions about that issue are likely to come up during the hearing.
On Wednesday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee will hear testimony from U.S. Agency for International Development administrator Rajiv Shah on Obama’s foreign assistance plans in the 2015 budget proposal.
