The House will consider a measure to reauthorize terrorism risk insurance, while the Senate’s agenda remains light on Wednesday.
On tap in the House will be four bills considered under suspension of the rules. One of those measures will be to reauthorize the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), which expired on Dec. 31.
{mosads}The House passed a TRIA bill before adjourning for the year in December, but Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) blocked its passage in the Senate. But now that Coburn is no longer a member of Congress, is path to President Obama’s desk looks more likely. Votes are expected around 2-3 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Senate will convene at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to a period of morning business. The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for the weekly caucus luncheons. No other items are scheduled in the Senate yet.
