Senate Judiciary Committee continues work on immigration reform bill

The Gang of Eight introduced its comprehensive immigration reform plan on Tuesday, but an unveiling event was postponed until Thursday because of the Boston Marathon bombings.

{mosads}S. 744 would create a pathway to citizenship for immigrants already in the country illegally, toughen border security, create a guest worker program and boost high-skilled immigration.

Some Republicans have complained that the bill will be rushed through committee, but the bill isn’t expected to come to the Senate floor until next month.

A Judiciary subcommittee will also look into the constitutionality of targeted drone killings. That hearing will take place Tuesday morning.
