The Senate passed a bill Monday that extends a national advisory board on student financial assistance for one year.
{mosads}Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) introduced H.R. 5134, which would extend the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity and the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance through the end of 2015.
The Board advises colleges in how to participate in federal student aid programs.
The House passed the measure by voice-vote in July. The Senate passed it through a unanimous consent agreement.
The bill now heads to President Obama’s desk for his signature before becoming law.
