Cruz: Hamas is guilty of ‘war crime’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slammed Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ for “slanderously” accusing Israel of “genocide” in a United Nations speech.

“Israel’s action in Gaza was the just self-defense of a sovereign nation against relentless attacks by radical Islamic terrorists,” Cruz said. “The United States would and should do the same under those circumstances.”

{mosads}Cruz, who is expected to be a potential GOP presidential nominee in 2016, has defended Israeli attacks against Hamas, which has launched missiles into the region.

The Palestinian Authority has taken heat from western leaders for forming a unity government with Hamas, which the United States has deemed a terrorist group.

“Rather than bandying baseless accusations against Israel in the United Nations, the Palestinian Authority would do better to expose Hamas’ vicious use of civilians as human shields, which is an actual war crime,” Cruz said.
