Feinstein challenges McCaskill with World Series wager
Sen. Dianne Feinstein threw down a challenge to Sen. Claire McCaskill over the weekend.
Feinstein (D-Calif.) offered McCaskill (D-Mo.) a wager on the outcome of the 2014 World Series.
{mosads}“I am so confident that the Giants will win the World Series for the third time in five years that I offer the following wager from the Bay: Petits Pain brioche, Boudin Bakery sourdough bread, fresh Dungeness crab, a selection of Ghirardelli chocolate, Cowgirl Creamery cheese — and a case of Anchor Steam beer to wash it down,” Feinstein wrote in a letter to McCaskill.
Feinstein pointed out that the San Francisco Giants already beat the St. Louis Cardinals to make it to the World Series and now her team was ready to beat another Missouri franchise — the Kansas City Royals.
“I think both of us are rightfully proud that our scrappy wildcard teams made it this far, but only one of us can win,” Feinstein wrote. “Good luck. You’ll need it.”
McCaskill has not yet said what she will give Feinstein if the Giants win.
Last week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) also wagered on the result of the baseball series. She offered San Francisco chocolates, while Cleaver bet Gates BBQ.
The series starts in Kansas City on Tuesday.
