Reid: Trump’s Vince Foster comments ‘show how desperate he is’

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) slammed Donald Trump on Tuesday, saying the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is “desperate” for raising questions about the 1993 death of an aide to President Bill Clinton.

{mosads}”To show how desperate he is, he brought up yesterday the suicide of [Vince] Foster,” Reid told reporters. “Even though suicide is a tragedy, it’s not a tragedy for Donald Trump.”

Trump has pledged to make scandals from Bill Clinton’s administration central to his strategy to beating Hillary Clinton, his likely Democratic opponent in this year’s presidential election.

Trump said earlier this week that Foster’s death was “very fishy.”

Foster’s death was ruled a suicide but remains the subject of conspiracy theories.

Reid added that Trump’s comments show the billionaire wants to “divert attention” from his own past controversial comments.
