{mosads}The lawmaker was honored by the organization for what it called the “extraordinary leadership and contributions [he] has made to the advancement of science and medicine, including his outstanding support for the National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other key federal agencies supporting medical research on chronic diseases.”
The gala at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington also raised money for the Lupus Foundation.
