Dingell won’t bite on ‘Sharknado 3’

If you’re yearning for a “Sharknado” cameo from Congress’s longest-serving member, Rep. John Dingell says don’t hold your breath.

The retiring Michigan Democrat was asked Monday during a Twitter Q&A session about a possible appearance in the third iteration of the SyFy Channel’s made-for-TV franchise that stars Tara Reid and “90210” alum Ian Ziering. A sequel to the cult hit aired last week.

Dingell, 88, seemed bewildered by the “Sharknado” premise in a tweet last week, writing to his more than 20,000 followers:

So it’s a tornado full of sharks? That’s what the entire film is about?

“Sharknado 3” is reportedly in the works and poised to air in 2015.
