Obama to first-grader: I forget things ‘all the time’
President Obama admitted to a forgetful first-grader that he forgets what he’s going to say “all the time.”
Obama visited a Tampa, Fla., school after a speech at MacDill Air Force Base on Wednesday.
{mosads}He called on a first-grade student who had raised his hand. But when the kiddo said he couldn’t remember what he was going to say, Obama replied, “That happens to me all the time.”
The president added, “I think I have a good point, and then … the press makes fun of me,” according to a White House pool report. He then flashed a broad smile toward journalists.
But Obama didn’t forget his birth year when one student asked if he fought in the Civil War.
“No, I was born in 1961,” he responded.
The president passed out boxes of M&Ms from Air Force One and was overheard telling the group that it was indeed his signature on the boxes: “I signed every box.”
