Jimmy Buffett is temporarily stepping out of “Margaritaville” and hitting the campaign trail, lending his support to a Democrat running for a House seat in Florida.
{mosads}The beach-loving singer, 67, will appear at a rally in Florida next week for Gwen Graham, the congressional hopeful’s campaign announced Monday. Buffett will perform a “short acoustic set” and “encourage attendees to vote for Gwen Graham,” a news release said.
Graham, an attorney, is in a race to unseat Rep. Steve Southerland (R) in the Sunshine State, in what’s considered to be one of the Democrats’ best pickup opportunities.
Graham’s father, former Sen. Bob Graham (D-Fla.), will also be at the Wednesday rally. The former Florida governor and Buffett co-founded the Save the Manatee Club together in the 1980s.
