Conan mocks Trump’s spat with Univision
Late-night host Conan O’Brien poked fun at GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s ongoing feud with Univision and Hispanics during his broadcast Wednesday night.
After the real Trump had Univision’s Jorge Ramos kicked out of a press conference earlier this week, O’Brien had an impersonator call in as the outspoken billionaire.
“That Latino reporter was like a madman,” the fake Trump told O’Brien during the segment.
{mosads}“He was like a motorized piñata full of hot sauce,” he said of Ramos. “I’m telling you Conan, Speedy Gonzales ran right at me.”
“Those are all offensive stereotypes, sir,” O’Brien responded.
“Hold on, hold on, stop talking — my assistant just brought me a printout of more stereotypes,” the fake Trump countered. “How do you pronounce that? Quesadilla?”
O’Brien’s Trump impersonator then berated the comedian before ejecting him from his own studio.
“Your monologue — not funny,” the fake Trump told O’Brien. “Sit down and shut up.”
O’Brien, who was already sitting during the performance, lowered his chair.
“Use your indoor voice Conan, you sound nuts,” the fake Trump added.
The real-life real estate mogul booted Ramos from an event in Dubuque, Iowa, after he began interrogating Trump over his immigration policies Tuesday evening.
Ramos argued on Wednesday that Trump was trying to “silence” criticisms of his positions by ejecting him from the campaign event.
“I’ve been a journalist for 30 years, and I have never been ejected from any press conference anywhere in the world,” he told host Megyn Kelly on Fox News.
“Those are the things you see in dictatorships, not the United States of America,” he added of Trump’s actions.
Trump has repeatedly battled Univision over its coverage of his campaign since its launch earlier this year.
The news outlet severed business ties with Trump in June following remarks some found insulting to Hispanics.
