WE HEAR: A trio of lawmakers is playing pitmaster, putting their barbecuing reputations on the line in a cook-off on Wednesday.

{mosads}Three congressional teams, led by Sens. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), and Rep. Sanford Bishop, Jr. (D-Ga.), will face off in a pork-shoulder-filled fundraiser hosted by ZERO: The End of Prostate Cancer and Cornerstone Government Affairs.

Cornerstone’s Susan Sweat tells ITK, “It’s a great to be able to host Members for their campaign events, which we regularly do, but raising money for something as life-impacting as ending prostate cancer — and rallying with other supporters like Johnson & Johnson and Varian to do so — was a unique opportunity and something we all wanted to be a part of.”

And ZERO CEO Jamie Bearse adds, “This BBQ Cook-Off is a great opportunity for ZERO to engage the Capitol Hill community in our work to advance research and support men battling prostate cancer and their families. Together, we we can make prostate cancer a national priority and engage others in the fight to end it.”

The Congressional BBQ Cook-Off is poised to take place at 5:30 p.m. on the sidewalk patio outside Cornerstone’s Independence Ave. offices, across the street from Capitol Lounge.

General admission is $50, but there’s no cost and no RSVP needed for members or Hill staffers.
