Ellen asks Sanders: ‘Boxers or briefs?’

The famously private Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is opening up to Ellen DeGeneres — and even sharing whether he’s a boxers or briefs kind of guy.

The Democratic presidential candidate is seen in preview clips from Thursday’s episode of “Ellen” dancing his way onto his first daytime talk show appearance before sitting down for a chat with DeGeneres.

{mosads}Sanders, who’s known for keeping info about his personal life close to the vest, shares a few intimate details when DeGeneres says the show will donate money to breast cancer research for each question he answers during a “Hot Seat” segment.

The 74-year-old lawmaker tells DeGeneres he chooses briefs over boxers and that he wanted to be a social worker when he was a kid.

When asked who has better hair between him and GOP White House hopeful Donald Trump, Sanders points to his white locks and quips, “That goes without saying.”

“If you had to pick a Republican presidential candidate to be stuck on a deserted island with, who would it be?” DeGeneres asks Sanders.

“Marco Rubio. He’s used to the sun,” Sanders replies matter-of-factly.

The answers are out of character for Sanders. The 2016 contender often refuses to answers questions that aren’t serious, demanding that interviewers stay focused on policy issues.

Sanders also offered a suggestion for what a Ben & Jerry’s flavor inspired by him could be called: “Burn, Bernie, Burn.”

Sanders’s full interview with DeGeneres airs Thursday.
