Bristol Palin is defending Kylie Jenner’s choice of Halloween costume, calling the reality TV star’s controversial Inuit outfit “chic.”

{mosads}The daughter of former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin penned an open letter Tuesday on her blog to Jenner, writing: “I read that you dressed up as an ‘Eskimo’ for Halloween. Predictable, people freaked out, saying you were politically incorrect and — wait for it — offensive.”

Jenner posted a video on Oct. 31 on Instagram featuring herself posing in an all-white outfit and captioned it “Eskimo.” In a later post, she referred to her look as “snow princess.”

But social media users were quick to pounce on the 18-year-old’s get-up:

In her letter to Jenner, Palin, 25, wrote that as a native Alaskan “who is also part Yup’ik, let me say this. I’m not offended! In fact, I’m flattered that you think Eskimos looks [sic] this chic.”

Palin’s father Todd reportedly has Inuit ancestry.

“I think ‘cultural appropriation’ Halloween guides are a joke, I think people need to lighten up, and I think you look great!” Palin wrote.
