Donald Trump to sit down for interview with Barbara Walters
Donald Trump will sit down for an interview with iconic reporter Barbara Walters on Tuesday night as criticism mounts over his call to block Muslims from entering the United States.
Trump tweeted out news of the interview, which will air at 6:30 p.m. ET as part of ABC’s “World News Tonight.”
{mosads}The real estate magnate has been a fixture on the television circuit since making his controversial proposal on Monday. He called into morning shows on ABC, MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News on Tuesday to defend his plan, and hosted a rally Monday night hours after his campaign sent out its statement.
Walters is an accomplished television journalist who has appeared on shows including NBC’s “The Today Show,” the ABC evening news, and ABC’s news magazine “20/20.” She also created the popular ABC News morning show “The View,” which she hosted for more than a decade.
She interviewed both Trump and his wife, Melania, last month. Walters and Trump are long-time friends.
