President Obama declined to pick either the Denver Broncos or Carolina Panthers to win this year’s Super Bowl, but said it’s a “great story” for Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to be playing in another title game.

“You know, I am going to need a little more information, but I think it is a great story for Peyton Manning to be towards the end of his career in a Super Bowl again,” he said in an interview with Denver’s CBS affiliate.

{mosads}“The defense the Broncos have is unbelievable, but Carolina looks tough,” the sports fan in chief added. “This is going to be a close one, this is going to be a tough one.”

The 39-year-old Manning hinted this could be his final NFL season after the Broncos defeated the Patriots in the American Football Conference title game, telling New England coach Bill Belichick, “This might be my last rodeo.”

The future Hall of Famer struggled through an injury-plagued season, but his team played well enough to give him a shot at earning a second Super Bowl ring.

The Panthers are favored by as much as 5 points over the Broncos in Super Bowl 50, which will be played in Santa Clara, Calif., on Feb. 7. The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
