Swastika painted on Trump’s Hollywood star

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was defaced with a black swastika, the Los Angeles Times reported on Monday.

The spray-painted star was cleaned off as soon as the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce noticed the image.

{mosads}“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees,” Leron Gubler, the chamber’s president and chief executive officer, said in a statement provided to the LA Times. “When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California state landmark.”

This isn’t the first time Trump’s name has been associated with an image of a swastika.

In December, law enforcement officials investigated reports in Georgia of swastikas featuring an image of Trump in the center.

During his campaign, Trump has called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States. He also called for a measure to put some mosques under surveillance following the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif.

Anne Frank’s step-sister wrote in a piece published in Newsweek last month that Trump is “acting like another Hitler.”
