‘DC on the half shell’ brings out District shellfish lovers
SPOTTED: Former President Obama speechwriter David Litt downing oysters galore at the inaugural “D.C. on the Half Shell” gala Monday night at Washington’s Union Market.
{mosads}We hear Litt, who was just announced as head writer and producer of Funny or Die D.C., slurped down some three-dozen marine mollusks after finishing his emceeing duties at the soiree benefitting the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
Also eyed among the more than 450 guests: Sens. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Rep. John Delaney (D-Md.), Democratic House candidate Kathleen Matthews, Chesapeake Bay Foundation President Will Baker, hotel exec Arne Sorenson, Jill Daschle, Melissa Maxfield, Brown Advisory’s Michael Hankin (who was presented with the “Conservationist of the Year” award), Brian Wolff, Daniel Dozier, Marrie Ridder, Katie and David Leavy, Bert Carp, Mihran and Stefanie Erkiletian, Leo Jardot, J.W. and Helene Rayder, Wick Sallers, Mark Walsh and Laurie Fitz-Pegado.
