Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) said the Kardashian clan is overshadowing the struggles of average Cubans by filming their reality television show on the Communist island.
“I know it’s cool for celebrities to go to Cuba, but the Cuban people don’t experience the glamorous Havana that is featured on social media,” she said in a statement, according to People. “Far from photo shoots and fruity drinks, everyday Cubans experience a different, sad reality.

People on Tuesday reported that the Kardashians were visiting Cuba for a vacation that would be taped for the latest season of their show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
Khloe Kardashian on Wednesday posted an Instagram photo showing her smoking a cigar in Havana alongside sisters Kim and Kourtney and friend Malika Haqq.
President Obama visited Cuba in late March, telling listeners there he had come to “bury” America’s Cold War tensions with its neighbor.
Obama announced a landmark diplomatic thaw with Cuba last year, arguing that engaging Cuban leadership will bring political change there.
