Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders timed a campaign stop to Oakland, Calif., just right if he wanted to catch game seven.
The Vermont senator was spotted Monday at the final game of the NBA Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder.
The defending champion Warriors had come back from three games to one to force a win-or-go-home final, and his press team implied that Sanders was capable of a similar comeback in his race against front-runner Hillary Clinton.
It was an eventful day for Sanders, who earlier got the full-court press from his Secret Service detail when audience members rushed the stage at an Oakland rally. Sanders was clearly unfazed by the incident, which came just over a week ahead of California’s June 7 primary.
Golden State won, 96-88, and will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in a repeat matchup of last year’s finals.
