Grumpy Cat visits the White House

The White House got a visit from one of its crankiest sightseers, as Grumpy Cat posed for a selfie outside of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

The perpetually frowning feline — who boasts more than 450,000 followers on Twitter — posted a snapshot on Thursday outside the White House’s gates.

While no explanation was given along with the pic, Grumpy Cat’s visit comes exactly one month ahead of National Cat Day on Oct. 29.

Last year, to mark the annual occasion, the White House tweeted out a side-by-side photo of Grumpy Cat and President Obama doing his best impression of the viral sensation:

It wasn’t the only time Obama aligned himself with the peeved pet (whose real name is Tardar Sauce). In 2015, Obama called Republicans “gloomy,” commenting, “They are like Grumpy Cat.”

Grumpy Cat first gained fame in 2012 after a photo showing her crotchety expression was posted on Reddit.
