‘House of Cards’ announces new season premiere

The popular political drama “House of Cards” announced the premiere of its fifth season Friday during the inauguration of President Trump.

The Netflix show’s official Twitter account posted a short video trailer on Friday revealing that “House of Cards” will return on May 30.

The brief trailer displayed a dark scene of the U.S. Capitol and an upside-down American flag. In the background, a choir of children could also be heard saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

{mosads}The show presents a dark view of U.S. politics and stars Kevin Spacey as President Frank Underwood. Robin Wright portrays his wife, first lady Claire Underwood.

According to The Associated Press, the new season will also be managed under new co-showrunners Frank Pugliese and Melissa James Gibson.
