Trevor Noah creates new Oscars category for actors accused of sexual assault
Trevor Noah slammed the growing list of Hollywood men who have been accused of sexual harassment, starting with the new allegations against comedian Louis C.K.
On Thursday night’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Noah joked that with the “insane” number of men who have been accused, the Academy Awards will need a new category.
“At this point, we’re going to need a new Oscar category this year,” Noah said. “‘Best Actor Whose Movies We Can’t Watch Anymore.’”
“Now that I think about it, all women in Hollywood should win ‘double Oscars’ for acting like all the men were cool all along, every single one of them,” he added.
{mosads}The New York Times published a report Thursday with accounts from five women who said C.K. engaged in sexual misconduct with them, including masturbating in front of them.
C.K. is the most recent addition to a list of men who have been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment or assault, joining other big names like producer Harvey Weinstein, actor Kevin Spacey, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and NBC News contributor Mark Halperin.
“It’s getting to the point where whenever I see a beloved celebrity’s name trending on Twitter, I’m like, ‘Oh, please tell me they’re dead. Please tell me they’re dead. Ah, damn it!’ ” Noah said.
