London theater reports 20 allegations of inappropriate behavior by Kevin Spacey
The Old Vic Theatre in London said Thursday it has received 20 allegations of inappropriate behavior by actor Kevin Spacey during his time as artistic director there, The Associated Press reported.
All the alleged victims are young men who are at least 18 years old. The reported incidents took place between 1995 and 2013, and ranged from actions that made people uncomfortable to “sexually inappropriate” touching, according to the AP.
Spacey was artistic director at the theater between 2004 and 2015. Only one of the individuals to file a complaint reported it at the time it occurred, according to the newswire.
“The investigation found that his stardom and status at The Old Vic may have prevented people, and in particular junior staff or young actors, from feeling that they could speak up or raise a hand for help,” the theatre said in a statement obtained by the AP.

Thursday’s report is the latest in a series of recent allegations accusing Spacey of sexual misconduct.
Actor Anthony Rapp alleged last month that Spacey made sexual advances toward him when he was 14. Spacey released a statement in which he apologized and came out as gay.
Days later, several of Spacey’s co-workers on the Netflix series “House of Cards” accused him of sexual harassment.
Netflix has cut ties with Spacey in the aftermath of the allegations, and Christopher Plummer replaced Spacey in a forthcoming Ridley Scott movie.
