Dem senator shares photo praising LeBron James after Laura Ingraham attacks

Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) on Friday shared a photo of himself with Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James the day after a Fox News host attacked the NBA superstar for comments he made about President Trump.

“We’re proud you call Ohio home,” Brown tweeted at James, who becomes a free agent this summer.

James said in a video released this week by his multimedia outlet Uninterrupted that Trump doesn’t “give a f— about people.” James, who has been critical of Trump in the past, actively supported Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.

Laura Ingraham tore into James on her Fox News show Thursday night, saying that he should “shut up and dribble.”

{mosads}”Look, there might be a cautionary lesson in LeBron for kids,” Ingraham said. “This is what happens when you attempt to leave high school a year early to join the NBA. And it’s always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball.”

James graduated from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in 2003.

Brown, who is up for reelection this November in a state won by Trump, linked to James’s nonprofit foundation that supports education, and praised him for his philanthropic achievements.

“Few people have given back to their community as much as [LeBron James] and the [LeBron James Family Foundation],” the Democratic senator tweeted. “He is building a school in Akron and paying $41 million to send more than 1,100 kids to college. Remarkable.”
