An HBO film co-produced by Anthony Scaramucci is scheduled to air Saturday night.
The former White House communications director is listed as an executive producer in the credits of the film “Paterno,” a biopic starring Al Pacino as disgraced Penn State football coach Joe Paterno.
“I just gave them the dough,” Scaramucci told The New York Times this week.
{mosads}Scaramucci’s involvement in the project was announced while he was still working in the Trump administration. He was fired after just 11 days on the job following a vulgar tirade against other members of the administration.
A spokesman for HBO told The New York Times that Scaramucci is listed in the credits “based on early financing he brought to the project prior to HBO’s involvement.”
Scaramucci did not attend the film’s premiere, telling the Times that he had a conflicting engagement. He has secured financing for several other films, and became involved with “Paterno” after buying the rights to a book that was used as source material for the film.
