Jon Stewart defends Samantha Bee: They don’t give a s— about that word

Comedian Jon Stewart reportedly defended Samantha Bee against criticism over a slur she used to refer to President Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump.

“They don’t give a shit about the word ‘c—,’” said Stewart, according to the Daily Beast. “That is probably — he says that instead of ‘please,’ I’m guessing.”

{mosads}Bee, who served as a correspondent for “The Daily Show” when it was helmed by Stewart, faced backlash last week after referring to Ivanka Trump as a “feckless c—” during her TBS show, “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.”

The controversy came amid the fallout from Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet about former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett. ABC quickly canceled the “Roseanne” reboot after Barr’s tweet.

Bee apologized last week for the remark about the president’s daughter.

“I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night,” she said in a statement at the time.

Stewart, however, said nothing will “make them give up this ‘We’re the real victims’ game.”

“It’s a game, it’s a strategy, and it’s working,” he added.

Bee will reportedly discuss the fallout from her controversial comment when her show airs again later this week.
