Jamie Lee Curtis is lending her famous name to Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D) California Senate bid, saying he’ll “always stand up to the people abusing their power.”

In a Friday message sent out by Schiff’s campaign and signed by Curtis, the “Halloween” actor said, “As a lifelong Californian, I’ve had the great privilege of being represented by some incredible United States Senators.”

“And one common quality that each of them has had — one I can very much say that my friend Adam Schiff shares — is this: They know they work for us, not the other way around.”

Schiff is running in the closely watched Senate race for the seat formerly held by Dianne Feinstein. The Democratic senator, who had announced in February that she would not seek reelection in 2024, died in September at 90.

Schiff and Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.) have been leading recent polls among likely primary voters in the race, which also includes Rep. Barbara Lee (D), former Google exec Lexi Reese and former Los Angeles TV news anchor Christina Pascucci.

Former Los Angeles Dodgers great Steve Garvey launched his campaign for the seat as a Republican candidate earlier this month.

In her email pitch for Schiff — which had the subject line “Freaky Friday,” in an ode to the 2003 Lindsay Lohan film she co-starred in — Curtis said, “As MAGA Republicans attack transgender children, LGBTQ equality, abortion rights, and ban books, I’m grateful we have a leader like Adam who will always stand up to the people abusing their power.”

“Whether it’s [former President Trump,] big corporations, or special interests — Adam stands up for what’s right,” Curtis said of Schiff, who served as a House impeachment manager during Trump’s first impeachment trial.

“But the truth is that many of the most important fights we face as a country will be waged in the United States Senate,” added Curtis, 64.

“And California needs to elect a Senator we can send there to get things done,” she said.
