Danny DeVito says rather than becoming governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger should’ve starred in a sequel to one of the pair’s hit movies.

“We missed ‘Twins 2’ because he became governor,” DeVito said of Schwarzenegger in a recent interview with GQ.

“He should have done ‘Twins 2’ instead of becoming governor,” the 78-year-old “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” actor said in an apparent quip about his former co-star.

DeVito and Schwarzenegger starred in “Twins” in 1988. The comedy made more than $215 million worldwide at the box office, according to IMDB.

The two also worked together in “Last Action Hero” in 1993 and in “Junior” the following year.

Schwarzenegger went on to become California’s governor as a Republican in 2003.

But DeVito teased that even though Schwarzenegger’s political detour might have temporarily derailed the odd couple’s Hollywood pairing, the duo may still reunite.

“Now we have a little thing going,” he said, “a little project that we’ve been chatting about.”
