Melania Trump is poised to be among a group of all the living former first ladies — including Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush — to attend a tribute service this week honoring Rosalynn Carter.
The ex-model and wife of former President Trump was on a list of expected guests released Monday by the Carter Center.
Carter, who marked her 77th wedding anniversary with former President Carter in July, died last week at 96.
In addition to the former first ladies, President Biden, first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff are all slated to attend the invitation-only service Tuesday at Emory University in Atlanta. Former President Trump was not among the guests listed.
Melania Trump has kept an extremely low profile since her husband exited the White House in 2021 and later launched his 2024 presidential campaign, with few public appearances and interviews.
Last year, in a rare interview, she told Fox News, “Life is great and [I’m] keeping it busy.”
The Carter Center released additional details about the tribute event Monday, saying the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra would play some of Carter’s “most beloved tunes,” along with performances by “family friends Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.”
