Betting market unveils odds for Swift backing Biden after Super Bowl
Politically charged gamblers can now place their bets on whether Taylor Swift will endorse President Biden’s reelection bid at the Super Bowl.
The wager involving the “Anti-Hero” singer — who’s famously dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and is expected to attend the team’s game against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas — is one of several politics-related props offered on the betting market BetOnline ahead of Sunday’s football showdown.
Last week, conspiracy theorists on the right began floating the evidence-free idea that the Super Bowl could be rigged in the Chiefs favor in order to maximize exposure for a potential Biden endorsement by Swift.
Swift’s possible post-Super Bowl Biden backing — which is being offered at 10-to-1 odds — is just one of several bets available to those who are feeling lucky.
Other long-shot odds include if former President Trump or Biden will be in attendance at the Super Bowl, whether halftime show star Usher will utter the commander in chief’s name during his performance and if any of the commercials will include jokes about the 45th and 46th presidents.
Some of the other wagers extend beyond the big game, with bets on which will be higher: Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy’s total number of pass attempts or the percentage vote Trump receives in South Carolina’s Republican primary Feb. 24.
The betting also extends to Election Day, with a prop bet focused on if the Super Bowl’s viewership or the total number of Americans who vote in the 2024 presidential election in November will be higher.
