Brad Pitt quips he has more time to give Oscars speech than John Bolton had to testify

Brad Pitt says the limited time for his Oscars acceptance speech was still longer than the time John Bolton had to testify at President Trump’s Senate impeachment trial.

The 56-year-old performer picked up an Academy Award in the best supporting actor category on Sunday for his role in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”

“They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week,” Pitt quipped.

Democrats had wanted Bolton to testify in front of the upper chamber during Trump’s impeachment trial after the former national security adviser announced he would be willing to if subpoenaed.

The Senate voted to acquit the president of two articles of impeachment last week after Senate Democrats did not get enough votes to request more witnesses in the trial.

“I’m thinking Quentin does a movie about it,” Pitt continued, referring to “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” director Quentin Tarantino.

“And in the end, the adults do the right thing,” Pitt said to applause.
