Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II smiles during a visit to Manchester Cathedral in Manchester, England, July 8, 2021, to hear about the support they have given to the local community during the last 18 months.

Queen Elizabeth II found former President Trump “very rude,” according to a forthcoming biography about the late monarch that was previewed on Monday in the Daily Mail.

The author, Craig Brown, wrote that the late monarch “entertained many controversial foreign leaders” throughout her 70-year reign, and that “She may not have found their company convivial; upon their departure, she may even have voiced a discreet word of disapproval.”

“A few weeks after President Trump’s visit, for instance, she confided in one lunch guest that she found him ‘very rude,’” Brown wrote in the forthcoming book, the Daily Mail reported.

“She particularly disliked the way he couldn’t stop looking over her shoulder, as though in search of others more interesting,” Brown continued.

Of former first lady Melania Trump, Brown wrote, the Queen, “also believed President Trump ‘must have some sort of arrangement’ with his wife Melania, or else why would she have remained married to him?”

Queen Elizabeth hosted Trump twice during his term in office, once for a working trip in July 2018 and once for an official state visit in June 2019. Trump also visited Buckingham Palace for a NATO summit in December 2019.

Trump has often expressed his admiration for Queen Elizabeth. After the 2019 state visit, Trump famously said the monarch had more fun with him during the trip than she’d had in 25 years and said he had a “great relationship with the Queen.”

The Daily Mail cited “Buckingham Palace sources” who “said he was a ‘model’ guest who was polite and charming to staff” during Trump’s visit.

The Hill has reached out to the Trump campaign for a response.

In a statement to Newsweek, a Trump spokesperson said, “This is nothing more than fake news intended to use made-up, salacious fabrications in order to sell copies of a book that belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section.”

Brown’s book, “A Voyage Around the Queen,” will be on sale in the United Kingdom on Aug. 29, 2024.
