Bill Clinton hopes to be grandfather by next week
Former President Clinton says he’s hoping to become a first-time grandfather by next week.
The ex-commander in chief, whose daughter Chelsea Clinton is pregnant with her first child with husband Marc Mezvinsky, hinted at his future grandbaby’s due date during a Sunday interview on CNN.
{mosads}“I hope by the first of October, I’ll be a grandfather,” Clinton said.
The former president, 68, and wife Hillary Clinton appear to be counting down the days until the newest family member’s due date, with Clinton telling CNN anchor Fareed Zakaria, “I can’t wait, and we’re on watch now.”
Clinton disclosed that he doesn’t know the baby’s gender since 34-year-old Chelsea Clinton opted not to find out: “My daughter and son-in-law decided not to know. They want to be surprised.”
Chelsea Clinton announced her pregnancy in April. In an interview last fall, she had declared 2014 the “Year of the Baby.” Prior to her pregnancy, the former first daughter said mom Hillary “asks us about it every single day.”
