Tony Romo, Matthew Morrison headed to DC for Nerd Prom

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and “Glee” star Matthew Morrison are among those headed to Washington, D.C., next week for events surrounding the White House Correspondents’ Association’s annual dinner, The Hill has learned.

The pair will be attending a private party hosted by talent manager Eric Podwall on April 29, the night before the event known as Nerd Prom, at the DuPont-area speakeasy Sheppard. Romo will be attending the invite-only gathering with his wife, Candice Crawford-Romo.

{mosads}ITK has learned that other guests at the intimate gathering will include “X-Men” director Bryan Singer, screenwriter and “Martian” producer Simon Kinberg and musician JC Chasez.

A host of celebrities will be in D.C. for the annual White House Correspondents’ Association event, which features roasts of politicians and members of the media who are often in attendance.

Comedy Central’s Larry Wilmore will serve as the entertainer at this year’s dinner and talked with The Hill about how he’s preparing, describing the black-tie gig as “one of the highlights” of his career.
