Clinton, Powell, Albright to guest star on ‘Madam Secretary’
Three previous Democratic secretaries of State including Hillary Clinton will appear on an upcoming episode of CBS’s “Madam Secretary,” the show’s creators announced Tuesday.
Show creator and executive producer Barbara Hall told The Wrap that Clinton, along with former Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright filmed scenes for the season 5 premiere of “Madam Secretary” earlier in July. Hall called it a “privilege” to hear the perspectives of the former leaders on the show.

“We’re delighted to have these three former secretaries of state be part of our season premiere,” Hall said. “It was a privilege to experience their perspectives and discourse both in and behind the scenes.”
“Madam Secretary” follows a fictional secretary of State, Elizabeth McCord, played by actress Téa Leoni. Leoni posted a photo of herself alongside the three former top diplomats on Twitter Tuesday, calling it an “unforgettable day.”
“Thank you Secretaries Albright and Clinton and General Powell for an unforgettable day! Can’t wait for the Season Premiere on Oct. 7th!” she wrote.

Albright responded on her own account, joking that it was always nice to “consult with my successors.”
“It was great to be back on the set of @MadamSecretary with @tealeoni. It is always nice to consult with my successors. The episode will air on #CBS on October 7,” Albright, who previously guest-starred on the show in 2015, wrote on Twitter.
