CNN celebrates correspondents’ weekend with New Orleans-themed brunch

Journalists and political figures joined in celebrating the First Amendment at CNN’s “Political Hangover” brunch on Sunday to help cap off White House correspondents’ weekend.

The network held its annual brunch at a three-story house on North Capitol Street, with specialty cocktails and food in the theme of New Orleans.

{mosads}Each level brought out a different dimension of New Orleans: Guests enjoyed king cake and mimosas on the first floor, a jazz band on the second and a speakeasy-style area with signature cocktails on the third.

The stairs between floors were lined with candles, with attendees enjoying pecking at truffle fries at one of the many events surrounding the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner the previous night.

Spotted guests at the network brunch included Reps. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) and Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.), former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) and a host of CNN personalities, including anchors Jake Tapper, Wolf Blitzer and Don Lemon as well as White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins.

Other guests included Josh Dawsey, Paul Kane, Ray Zaccaro, Jon Kott, Miranda Margowsky, Annie Clark and John McCarthy.
