Ocasio-Cortez to appear as guest judge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is joining the “Ru-volution,” appearing as a guest judge on the upcoming season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
“I pledge allegiance to the drag,” the New York Democrat says in a Thursday promo for the reality competition’s 12th season.

The appearance makes Ocasio-Cortez — who’s an avid fan of the series — the second high-profile lawmaker to make a cameo on the show. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made an appearance on “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars” in 2018.
Ocasio-Cortez has said that being a guest on the RuPaul-hosted hit would be her “dream.”
“I’m just so thankful that we have a community that can celebrate each other and just find joy in each other and beauty in each other and uplift each other,” the progressive freshman said in a live Instagram post last year.
VH1 touted “film, music, television, fashion and political icons” who will also serve as guest judges on the show, premiering Feb. 28, including: Nicki Minaj, Jeff Goldblum, Chaka Khan, Olivia Munn and Robyn and Leslie Jones, among others.
