Adam Sandler debuts new coronavirus quarantine song on ‘The Tonight Show’
Adam Sandler is debuting a coronavirus-themed song that serves as both a tribute to doctors and nurses and a call to action to get them vital medical supplies.
The “Uncut Gems” star and “Hanukkah Song” singer shared the new tune with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday’s “Tonight Show.” The NBC host has joined other late-night personalities in broadcasting remotely during the pandemic.
Sandler, 53, strummed a guitar and sported sunglasses as he belted out the lighthearted ditty, singing: “Doctors and nurses will save us from this mess if we give them the supplies that they need / And I hope they save us really soon because I’m getting really sick of my family.”
“We gotta build some ventilators and make some more masks / We got to now, so let’s all come together,” Sandler continued.
“I’m teaching math to my kids, and that can’t be good for America,” he added.
Hospitals around the country have reported shortages of supplies and medical equipment — including face masks and ventilators — needed to treat COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
In his song, Sandler advised people to adhere to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to practice social distancing, saying, “Stay home as much as you can, make sure to wash your hands/Let’s make this damn thing go away.”
“Find a cure for this shit,” Sandler said, “because I really, really miss hugging my mailman.”
