Justin Theroux sports a bushy mustache to play G. Gordon Liddy as he stands alongside Woody Harrelson’s E. Howard Hunt in a first glimpse of a forthcoming TV series about the masterminds behind Watergate.

HBO on Friday released the first advance image from its forthcoming limited series “The White House Plumbers” about the 1972 hotel break-in and coverup.

The show, which also features Kathleen Turner and Gary Cole in roles based on real-life Watergate figures, “tells the story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs … accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect,” according to HBO.

The five-episode series, from “Veep” writers and producers David Mandel, Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck, is based in part on both public records and Egil “Bud” Krogh’s and Matthew Krogh’s 2009 book “Integrity: Good People, Bad Choices, and Life Lessons from the White House.”
