GOP attacks on Reid mean ObamaCare attacks are failing

As Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and others on the right are humiliated because their latest right-wing folk hero turned out to be a racist, as ObamaCare sign-ups have surged and the Congressional Budget Office now forecasts that premium increases will be less than expected, and as even many conservatives are calling on Republicans to end their ill-fated, failed attack against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over Benghazi, the GOP now turns its attention to trying to demonize Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

{mosads}It won’t work. The GOP is a party in search of an enemies list, while America is a nation that is fed up with the GOP brand of dirty and small-minded politics.

Here’s the deal: Democratic prospects in the 2014 Senate elections are improving. In key races from Arkansas to North Carolina and from Louisiana to Alaska, Senate Democrats are more than holding their own. In Georgia, Michelle Nunn is a widely respected figure running a powerful campaign and Democrats have an outstanding chance of picking up this seat.

Meanwhile, ObamaCare sales have surged dramatically and more young customers have signed up, creating downward pressure on premiums, and insurers will be loath to raise premiums as much as Republicans had hoped. Republicans are reduced to insulting the customers! This is a bad plan — the customers are also the voters.

The GOP attacks on Benghazi have left Hillary Clinton stronger than ever, the number of ObamaCare sign-ups is higher than expected, Republicans are squirming like worms on a hot brick in summertime trying to escape the debacle of their latest racist folk hero, while Reid is executing his plan to maintain Democratic control of the Senate.

The more Republicans slander Reid, the more worried Republicans prove themselves to be, with good reason but a bad plan.
