Sheriff David Clarke: This is what the Left really thinks about cops
The decision by a Democrat U.S. Congressman to hang a painting depicting law enforcement officers as pigs is so perfect a representation of the political left that we ought to thank him for making the job of painting them as cop haters easy.
Congress’ rules in regards to “art” are clear: it doesn’t adhere to the rules of the contest through which is was selected. What isn’t clear is why the left isn’t running to cover up this clear display of their twisted values, instead of doubling down on their hatred and disdain for the police, for all to see.
{mosads}It is abhorrent that this filth disguised as art has been hung in our Capitol building, and now re-hung. But I’ll take such a disgusting display, and the light it sheds on the true ideology of Rep. Lacy Clay (D-MO), his Democratic party, and his supporters, which include the Congressional Black Caucus and the likes of Black Lives Matter.
If the Congressional Black Caucus means to make sure every American understands it stands for hatred of police, the encouraging of violence against the men and women who protect the black community, the utter disregard for the culture of race-hatred this encourages, then they are getting their wish.
Most of the time, the media covers for the left’s violence-inciting rhetoric, as it seeks to pit Americans against each other and vilifies anyone who actually tries to aid the black community.
Perhaps America will wake up to the depravity of the left and the path it would take America down.
You see, the Congressional Black Caucus and its lackeys like Clay need to keep the black community in chains, ignorant of the real oppressors in their community: liberal black leadership.
Most of the time they keep their true aims disguised, claiming the help the community that they need to remain helpless, under attack, and in despair. It’s moments like these that reveal the depravity of liberal black leadership.
When Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) took it down, he showed a little of the spark of freedom that we all need to get back in touch with. We aren’t passive doormats while the left rips apart our community as a nation to further its power-grabbing aims.
If you can’t stand up against this painting, congressmen and women, then one can question your sincerity when you utter the phrase, and to the republic for which it stands, as you hold your hand over your heart while pledging allegiance to our flag.
It’s too bad Hunter tweeted a photo of him embracing Clay, showing they’re still “friends.”

That puts his act dangerously close to the realm of political stunt, and we don’t need friends who are encouraging violence against those who put their lives on the line for the laws congressmen like Hunter pass.
Celebrating such a painting, in this time of violence against those who sacrifice all to keep communities safe and ensure the rule of law extends across the nation, reveals to us all the values of the Democrat Party. Thank you, Lacy Clay.
There is one more aspect to this that no one seemed to pick up on in the debate to hang it up or take it down.
Who taught Clay this warped sense about a lack of respect for authority figures and the law?
Respect for authority and those charged with it is a virtue, a redeeming quality. It has to be instilled in young people. A mentoring opportunity was missed here. This lack of respect is a learned behavior.
This impressionable student just might go out into the world with a misguided chip on his shoulder about the police. If confronted in a police interaction will that animosity play itself out like it did with Mike Brown when confronted by Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson?
Will he flee like Freddie Gray or will he simply comply as the law requires and thereby increase the chances of surviving the encounter?
Did Congressman Lacy Clay and the Congressional Black Caucus give that any consideration or was the opportunity to bash the police just too enticing to pass up?
