Obama’s sequester still being blamed on GOP by desperate, dishonest Dems

{mosads}”It was a mistake for Republicans to push the sequester and for the president and Democrats to surrender to the sequester happening without even making a fight,” Budowsky writes in a piece defending Paul Krugman.

Just what part of “the sequestration was Obama’s idea” is so hard for Obama defenders to understand? Obama initiated it, hoping it would be more of a threat that would force Republicans in Congress to roll over.

They called his bluff. He then sent Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to stand in front of reporters and lie to them at the White House, claiming teachers would get pink slips. He sent his Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to lie about the sequester resulting in longer TSA lines at airports.

So confident was Obama and his defenders that their lapdogs in the media would repeat the lie that the sequester was the GOP’s idea, and therefore any pain felt would be blamed on the GOP, they barely even tried to cover their tracks. As evidence, look at that smoking-gun email from a USDA employee: “It is our opinion that however you manage that reduction [the sequester cuts], you need to make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be.”

That the sequester was Obama’s idea, and that he swore to block any attempts to stop it is undeniable. Any statements to the contrary in this space or any other news organization should be challenged and corrected. However, the more likely scenario is obfuscation and attacks which have nothing to do with the issue at hand, which is the usual bitter, tired and quite predictable response from the left. Yawn.
