To My Distinguished Fellow Blogger, Brent Budowsky

No, I am not pleased with sentiments such as “typical Chicago black politician.” To the contrary, that is the entire point of my post: Sen. Obama has opened the door to those who attack him based merely on the color of his skin, rather than the content of his record/policy positions.

This is my precise worry: By Obama (not me, not McCain, no one else) opening the door and complaining about his being black and subject to attack, I suspect the Pandora’s Box on race may well be opened.

How do I feel about my post, Brent? I’m not happy. I’m not happy that the candidate who promised to transcend race continues to accuse Republicans of attacking him on his race when the candidate himself brings it up time and time again. This needs to stop: We must focus on the candidates’ policies rather than the color of their skin.
