Name-Calling McCain Follows His Adviser Rove’s Strategy

What is Karl Rove telling John McCain, when is he telling him, and what does it tell us that McCain is listening?

John McCain and his campaign are lowering the standard of political discourse in America almost daily with name-calling and low-road rhetoric.

McCain’s name-calling applies not only to Barack Obama, but to anyone who opposes the Bush/McCain policy on the Iraq war, and to anyone who opposes the Bush/McCain policy of refusing serious negotiations to address American security interests with Iran and others.

In the world of Bush, McCain and Rove, if you disagree with them on matters of war and peace you are waving the white flag, you are surrendering, you are appeasing.

When Barack Obama called McCain on his lack of support for full new GI Bill benefits, McCain, obviously losing that debate, sank to the level of criticizing Obama for not serving in the military.

When George Bush became the one and only president in the history of the nation to use a foreign trip to attack a domestic political opponent, McCain, like Bush, like Rove, sank to the level of joining Bush on this unprecedented low road.

McCain, like Bush, like Rove, attacks anyone who disagrees with his hard-line neocon views that have already done a generation of damage to our military and security, with personal attacks, name-calling, and what I call short-pants McCarthyism.

It is time to ask: What does Rove tell McCain in his partisan advice, and what does it tell us about McCain that the candidate with national security views that are Bush 44 uses political tactics that are Rove 2?
