Rove Bigfoots Mitt’s ‘Momentum’

Mitt Romney just got Bigfooted by Karl Rove. Fresh off the euphoria of big Sunday headlines about his Iowa Straw Poll victory, Romney’s strategy was to build on the momentum of his success in Ames by heading west. Then along came Karl with a much bigger headline. And unlike a lot of news made inside the Beltway, Rove’s departure from the White House will be of interest to voters around the country — not to mention those GOPers whose attention Romney seeks this week.

Whatever momentum Romney anticipated from this past weekend’s shindig in Iowa has surely been downgraded with the stunning announcement that the mastermind behind GDub handed the boss his two weeks’ notice.

Love him or hate him, the fact is Karl Rove is a household name. Mitt Romney isn’t. This is a tough break for the Mittster.
